When we say a French drain we mean is a perforated pipe used for underground drainage and a sump pump.
A French drain wet basement waterproofing system will capture the water and drain the water into a sump pump pit.
A French drain is unlikely to ever clog due to the fact that it is not sitting underneath several feet of soil.
